Andrew Avery

Wealth Manager

Hi! I am Andrew Avery, a Wealth Manager here at 1.oak Financial. After spending almost four years in investment operations, I transitioned into financial planning because I wanted to work more personally with clients. I have a passion for connecting with people, deepening relationships, and walking alongside families as they make the most important decisions about their lives.

My grandfather always says, “No one gets to the end of their life and wishes they spent more time at work, they think about the time they spent on their relationships.” It is this perspective that shapes the way I serve clients. No client should feel like a number on a page, but rather a person whose life can be meaningfully impacted by diligent planning.

I live in Norfolk with my wife and daughter. We moved to the area almost four years ago to be startup members of Port City Church here in Norfolk. I enjoy every second serving on the Production Team and the Welcome Team with fellow members. I’m also an avid chess player, with an Elo rating currently hovering around 1800. Anyone who wants to discuss their retirement over a friendly game of chess is welcome!

Outside of the office, you may see me around Norfolk hanging out with my church family, enjoying Saturday breakfast with my wife and daughter, or playing a chess game with friends. Whether we meet out in the “wild” or in the office, I would love to connect with you. Reach out today!
