Investment Management

We’ll help you invest based on your risk tolerance and comprehensive financial plan, plus provide consistent management to keep a close eye on the performance of your accounts. We proudly partner with Fidelity, Charles Schwab, and American Funds as our custodian partners, and Advisory Alpha as our Investment Compliance, Operation, Research, and Execution Team.

Why it matters

A portfolio should come from a plan, not a pitch

You have probably been sold investments before. A product, a fund, a hot idea; something that made sense to the person selling it. What you may never have been given is a portfolio built from your own plan.

Without a plan behind it, every market headline becomes a decision, and every decision is made under pressure. That is exhausting, and it is how people end up buying high and selling low.

Investment management at 1.oak starts from the plan and works backward. Your portfolio exists to fund the life the plan describes, and it is managed so you can stop watching the ticker.

Where this fits

One of the five components of your One of a Kind Financial Plan™. The others:

How we approach it

Listen, design, manage

Step 1

Listen

We start by understanding how you feel about risk, not just how much you can take on paper, along with what each account is for and when the plan will need the money.

Step 2

Design

We build a portfolio aligned with your plan and your tolerance for risk, with each holding placed where its tax treatment does the most good. Assets are held in your name at Fidelity, Charles Schwab or American Funds, and Advisory Alpha’s team handles investment research, operations and compliance.

Step 3

Manage

We monitor and rebalance the portfolio, keep it aligned as the plan changes, and report to you in plain language. When markets are loud, you have someone to call who already knows your plan.

Investment Management questions, answered plainly

At an independent custodian, in accounts in your name: Fidelity, Charles Schwab or American Funds. 1.oak Financial never takes custody of your assets.

Advisory Alpha, LLC is the Registered Investment Advisor through which our investment advisory and financial planning services are offered. Their team handles investment research, trading, operations and compliance so that ours can focus on you and your plan.

We build diversified portfolios sized to your plan and risk tolerance. We are not chasing a hot idea, and we do not promise returns. Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal.

Yes. Some clients bring everything; others keep a workplace plan or a legacy account elsewhere. We build the portfolio around your whole picture either way.

At least annually for a full review, more often when the plan or the markets call for it, and any time you want to. You will always have a person to call rather than a phone tree.
